More News From The Front......Germans Fight A Costly Battle To Gain Pegasus Bridge VL
Moving the 22nd of the 7th Mechanized into the Pegasus Bridge map had the potential of gaining ground for the Brits. The objective was to secure the Bridge VL.
Brit Troopers:

Positioning the 6lbr AT guns was critical to allow their use against enemy tanks that were sure to be found lurking on the far side of the canal. Once German armor was neutralized, then our tanks could support getting additional inf across the Bridge.
Initial positions:
[img] [/img]
The opening exchanges of tank and AT gunfire on my left flank resulted in two Gerry Mrk IVs being knocked out. I was very optimistic for a successful outcome based on these results. I had placed a "Stuie" (Honey light tank) at the edge of the canal, and just to the east of the bridge to be able to take the Germans that occupied house on the opposite bank under fire. This turned out to be an effective placement.

However, another Mrk IV was perfectly positioned to the southwest of the bridge and back in a shallow gully to take my inf sent across the bridge under effective MG fire. Once our troopers were spotted, that tank crew took no quarter. I tried to maneuver the Firefly into a position to take this German tank under fire. But, my plans were disrupted by a hidden German AT gun that knocked out the FF.
During the confusion of the pitched battle, a single Gerry infantryman managed to crawl onto the bridge and capture the bridge VL. My subsequent inf charges.

Knights ...if you could use the 640 X 480 setting when your saving your screen shots to the image file it would be cool.....that makes it a bit smaller so we can see almost all of the screen shots...thanks bro

Capt Steiner.....Hey Mike, you've mentioned this to me before. Sorry, I'm not ignoring you on it. I just haven't figured out how to adjust the image size for the screen shot. Ps. Hey Mike... Doo, boy have not been paying attention. I just looked at ImageShack and figured out what you have been trying to get me to understand! I just never paid attention to that selection box.
dgfred....thx for the reminder about clicking on the image to enlarge it. I didn't think of that when Steiner asked me about this before.
